Helping to brighten up the environment... 11-year-olds Joanne Shaw (left), Joanna Norcliffe (centre) and Olivia Butterfield are seen planting wild flower bulbs at Tunnel End today. The girls were among pupils from six classes at Marsden Junior School who took part in the project, organised by Colne Valley country warden Mike O Roarke. Pupils were also set to receive certificates from Clr Mrs Dorothy Lindley this afternoon, for planting about 1, 000 trees in Tunnel End area and along the canal in January and February. 9th June 1988
