Going for a burton has paid off for an East Cleveland juvenile jazz band
Going for a burton has paid off for an East Cleveland juvenile jazz band, for two trainees at Guisboroughs Burtons clothing factory have helped stitch up the Loftus Greenjackets with new uniforms. Seamstresses Gillian Hird, 17 and Debbie Goodall, 16, have been making 56 jackets and sashes for the band while working at the factory on a youth training scheme and yesterday the uniforms were handed over to the band. Burtons personnel officer Barbara Jacobs said Burtons supplied the labour and the band supplied the material.
