The trainee gardeners with Langbaurgh Borough Council were welcomed at the start of their three-year-course by Mayor, Councillor Bill Herlingshaw. The six, including 16-year-old Sandra Richardson, found time for a little spade work during a photo-call outside the Coatham Memorial Hall in Redcar. The five boys are Paul Bint, 17, Carl Emery, 18l Dennis Gargett, 17, Ian Rawlings, 17, Carlin How and Andrew Roberts, 16. 22nd August 1982
