A RAF Sea King helicopter lowers Father Christmas to the ground. Santa Claus, played by Sgt Alan Walters, 37, of RAF Boulmer, was greeted by children outside the Radcliffe Workingsmens Club, Amble, Northumberland. Upon landing Sgt Walters ran to a nearby van and was replaced by a second Santa, club member Mr Mattie Copeland, 59, who proceeded to hand out gifts to the waiting children.
