BEAs new Sikorsky 61 helicopter taking its Ministry of Aviation trials of landing on the Thames before going into service on the Scilly Isles route.
Piloted by Captain J A Cameron, from East Grinstead, it is the first amphibian helicopter by BEA to be landed on the River Thames. The helicopter was also to be used to take men to the North Sea Drilling project.
