An Aerospatiale Dauphin II (Eurocopter Dauphin) helicopter pictured near the Souter

An Aerospatiale Dauphin II (Eurocopter Dauphin) helicopter pictured near the Souter Lighthouse on the cliffs at Marsden, South Shields.
The aircraft, operated by Bond Helicopters, had been carrying oil rig workers when it had to make a dramatic landing after almost running out of fuel.
The pilot managed to touch down with only 15 feet to spare as the eight frightened passengers looked on.
