Former world champion racing driver Graham Hill flew by helicopter into Leamington to join hundreds of visitors at a miniature motor show being staged by C. H. Soans and Son Ltd. in their new 100, 000 workshop and service centre. The opening of the first stage of an ambitious development programme by the old established Leamington firm - the Ford main dealers for the area - marked another step towards the completion of the development of the towns Sydenham Farm Estate. This project, on the eastern edge of the town, off the Radford Road, combines residential development with space for several light industrial concerns. Mr. Hill flew in from Silverstone where later today he will be competing in several motor racing events. He spent half an hour touring the workshops and comprehensive display which quickly proved a major attraction for Easter Monday holiday makers. Soans have arranged a Ford-on-Show week to celebrate the opening and other displays set out in the large up-to-date workshop include racing cars, dragsters and go-karts. Children attending todays opening with their parents received Easter gifts. And a number of competitions provided visitors with the opportunity to test their skill in several aspects of motoring. Our photograph shows Graham Hill trying out an old A.J.S. motor cycle built by A. J. Stevens and Co. Ltd, of Wolverhampton which was one of the exhibits at the show. Mr F. C. Soans is riding pillion.

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
