A seething mass of fans greeted Coronation Street star Johnny Briggs when he opened a new shop in Coventry. Johhny - alias Mike Baldwin - was in the city to open the new East Midlands Electricity Board Shop. The crowd surged forward as Johnny stepped up to pick the winning tickets in a prize draw. And desperate hands stretched out as he handed out dozens of pictures he d autographed. Some people had been queuing since 7pm the previous day - but not just to see the Streets loveable rogue. One man who had slept ona park bench to pick the best of the opening day bargains had already left with his new fridge by the time Johnny had arrived. Johnny siad: I haven t been to Coventry for years. I just drove past the theatre I played in last time and saw its turned into a bingo hall. Success in the Street also curtailed a career on the big screen, where he worked on films such as the war picture 633 Squadron.

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
