arrives at the Westminster Hospital to have the plaster removed from his injured leg in 1961 the Professional Footballers Association acheived the abolition of the minimum wage for football players, largely due to the work of the PFA Chairman, Jimmy Hill. Johnny Haynes, a player for Fulham became the first player to earn £ 100 pounds a week. He is pictured here in 1962 at the Westminster Hospital where he had received treatment for a leg injury.
