Handley Page H.P.42 four-engine biplane October 1932.
Eight were built. Able to seat 38 passengers they were introduced into service by Imperial Airways in November 1931; four operating services to Paris (the Silver Wing) and other European capitals, while the remainder flew from Cairo on routes to Indian and South Africa.
Heracles and other names from history and mythology were used which aptly described these giant airliners, which remained in service until the early days of WW2.
