Winston Churchill giving election speech during the General Election campaign of 1945
Winston Churchill giving election speech during the General Election campaign of 1945. Due to the intervention of the WW2 there had not been a General Election in the UK since 1935. The wartime coalition split and the Conservative Party, led by Winston Churchill and the Labour Party led by Clement Attlee prepared to contest the election.
