This Miles M.14a Hawk Trainer 3 was a two-seat aircraft fitted with a D.H. Gipsy Major engine.
First flown in 1937 it saw some civil use before being built in large numbers for training military pilots during WW2; post war it was extensively used by flying clubs.
Pictured is a pre 1939 example flown during the 1950s by Doug Bianchi from White Waltham along the route of the Thames.
