3rd Lahore Indian Division. Circa October 1914
Whenever the mules, which carry the Indian mountain guns and ammuntion, see any sand, or mud, or dust, nothing will prevent them from having a bath in it. These animals, which are very powerful, stand anywhere from 12 to 13.5 hands high, and are most intelligent. On detraining at Orleans, France they seized the opportunity of having one of their favourite baths.
