The Industry Secretary, Mr. Anthony Wedgewood-Benn received a tremendous welcome when he visited the Meriden motor cycle co-operative for the first time since production started. He spend half an hour looking round the factory and then he went to the canteen to meet the workers. The feeling of the meeting was expressed by a placard on the wall: " Thanks Tony. We ll Make it Work." He was so pleased with the placard that he asked if he could have it.
