Monas Isle, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Companys fifth postwar passenger steamer, was launched from Cammell Lairds yard at Birkenhead, Thursday 12th October 1950.
The ship was named and launched by Mrs A E Kitto, wife of a director of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company
