Canadian Pacific immigrant ship Beaverbrae formerly the Hapag
Canadian Pacific immigrant ship Beaverbrae formerly the
Hapags Huascaran which was taken over by the German Navy during the second world war and used as a u-boat repair ship in Norway.
Captured in 1945 and handed over to Canadian Government, the ship was sold to Canadian Pacific in 1947. Refitted and renamed Beaverbrae and used as an emigrant carrier on the St.John - Bremerhaven/Bremen route. Seen here being towed through the lock gates of the London docks.
