This Breguet 19A-2 open-cockpit bi-plane was the most celebrated French long distance aircraft of the Twenties, making many flights including two crossings of the Atlantic.
The Asahi Shimbun Corporation, a Japanese newspaper, imported Breguet J-KIKU Hatsukaze (First Wind) and J-KIRI Kochikaze (East Wind) which were flown from Tokyo to Paris in July 1925 by Japanese pilots Abe and Kawashi who later toured Europe, including a stop at Croydon airport where this picture was taken
