Bike for the Sky: Reaching for the sky on a bicycle built for two
Bike for the Sky: Reaching for the sky.. on a bicycle built for two. This man-powered, bicycle-chain-driven " helicopter" had its first test yesterday (18-3-62) at the R.A.F. station at Melksham, Wilts. It didn t get off the ground. But its designer, Warrant Officer Spencer Bailey, is confident that it will be in the air soon. Providing the " engine" in the picture are airmen David Renner (left) and Don Battman.
