Fashions of the 11th Annual Poultry Feather Hat Competition were being shown at the Caf┼¢ Royal, Regent Street. Irene Moffatt took a trip down to Smithfield market to show the porters what a good bird should look like! She is wearing the prize winning entry in the Garment section called " Fluffy Chick" a swimsuit, hat, slippers and goggles made entirely of turkey feathers. The outfit was made by Mrs. N. Murphy of Cork, Eire, who wins £ 35, and took her 40 hours to make. Irene is pictured, weighing in on the turkey scales. November 1969 Z11371-004
