In 1957 Elizabeth Taylor divorced from her second husband Michael Wilding and announced her engagement to the producer Mike Todd. Here they are pictured jetting off to Nice. Tragically Todd was killed in a plane crash only a year into their marriage. At the age of only 26 Taylor was already twice divorced and now a glamourous widow.
Elizabeth Taylor in her prime was without doubt one of the worlds most beautiful and glamorous women. The one exception being her 1957 marriage to Mike Todd as he was tragically killed in a plane crash only a year after they announced their engagement. Her marriages to Richard Burton were subjected to the most public scrutiny largely because the pair played their relationship out on the silver screen in movies such as " Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". The actress went on to launch her own range of cosmetics, a move that has earned her millions of dollars. Her later years have been plagued with illness, including a massive brain tumor and Taylor has become something of a recluse on her massive mansion estate
