Its bingo by braille. The hands are those of a bingo player
Its bingo by braille. The hands are those of a bingo player. They belong to a woman who loves the game. Who goes each week without fail to her local bingo hall. Who is blind. Mrs. Betty Molloy lost her sight when she was four. But she has overcome her handicap, not only at home where she has a husband and two young children to look after, but at the bingo hall. Betty of Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland, goes with her aunt to the nearby Strathclyde Social Club, Mrs. Agnes Murdoch, 33, of Bridgeton, reads out the numbers to her niece who writes themwith her braille punch machine on to a sheet of paper. Then, as the numbers are called out, 23 year old Betty checks by running her fingers down the paper. She has not won a prize, yet but as she says: " I wouldn t miss bingo for anything". The blind woman feels for her braille numbers. April 1969 P018626
