Framed Print of Fashion 1960 s: Its all frills beneath the Hesitant Hemline
Fashion 1960 s: Its all frills beneath the Hesitant Hemline. What do you wear under a knicker suit? Knickers, of course. At Lanvin on Wednesday (26-7-67), long-length knickers trimmed with swishy frills peeped out from under culottes of every length from thigh to ankle. Did their best to make a masculine idea look feminine. The frilly knickers are already on sale in Paris at an undie shop called Candide. And they will be on sale in London at Fenwick of Bond street soon. Lanvins endless permutations on knicker look included cape culottes and mid-calf coat culottes. All buttoned up and belted, this must surely be the most non-negotiable garment since the chastity belt. Knee length frilly knickers for under-knee-length knicker suits.
