Bebe Daniels has been described as one of the actor/actresses that built the American Film industry. Certainly she was there when motion pictures broke into the big time. She made her debut at the age of seven in A Common Enemy (1908). She mde her name co-starring with Harold Lloyd, the famous silent comedian. Hving been noticed she was signed by the director Cecil B. De Mille with whom she made several uccesful films before turning back to comedy where she was clearly happier. Many forecast that the advent of sound would mean the end of her career and she was dropped byParamount. However, she hadn t written herself off and scored a hit with the film Rio Rita (1929). She continued to be a success in Hollywood until she moved to England with her husand Ben Lyon in 1935. Once in England the pair started to appear on stage as well as film where they were a hit with British audiences.
Ben Lyon married Bebe Daniels in 1930 and started his career as an actor by appearing in some of the early talkies. When WW2 broke out Lyon signed up with the RAF and had an exemplary service record (he was later awarded an OBE). After the war he set up a talent agency in London and worked for Fox Studios as a talent scout. Rumour has it that he discovered Norma Jean and gave her the stage name Marylin Monroe, though how true this is remains somewhat uncertain. After his wife died in 1971 he remarried and moved back to the states.

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
