This Vickers Viking 1B passenger airliner carried 24 passengers, the prototype of which first flew from Wisley, Surrey in the hands of Chief Test pilot Mutt Summers on 22 June 1945.
It was the first post-war British airliner, derived in part from the Wellington bomber, and was ordered by British European Airways who eventually received around 40 for their U.K. and European services.
A total of 168 were built and served airlines in Africa, South America, the Middle East and Europe.
