The eleven ladies of the British Independent Football team have just come back from Italy and Sicily where they qualified to join the teams of Europe going to Mexico for the Women's World Cup. Based in Luton and managed by Harry Batt, they are Bobbie Wing, 20, from Royston; Paula Rayner, 15, from Luton; Carol Wilson, 18, from Newcastle; Jill Stockley, 16, from Nuneaton; Janice Barton, aged 19; Leah Caleb, 14, from Luton; Jean Bracken, 19, from Skipton; Trudy Caffery, 16, and Val Cheshire, 23, from Luton. 18th June 1971
