Probably the only people who benefit from the clothes rationing are the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen's Families Association, for at the SSAFA clothing club an average of 100,000 garments per month are distributed free to deserving cases of servicemen's families. The 1942 Club, run by Mrs. Campbell-Blake has a large membership of west end women who pay a subscription of 5/- a quarter, remake all sorts of clothing and then send the profits to the association. Mrs Campbell-Blake smiles over a workers successful effort to make fathers pyjamas into a pair of pants for the boy. 18th April 1944

Operating from a landing strip carved by RAF airmen and Yugoslav Partisans with picks and shovels out of vineyards among the rocky hill of a. Dalmatian island, Spitfires and Hurricanes of Coastal Air Force are giving Marshal Tito the close air support so vitally needed in his campaign against superior enemy forces.
Pilots of these "Island Commandos" have reported enemy trains blown up, schooners sunk, ferries set on fire and petrol dumps and gun positions destroyed.
They pay high tribute to the RAF ground crews and to the Partisans who keep them constantly in the air.
The Unit is commanded by 21-year old Squadron Leader. A. LeHardy, of Faversham. Kent.

A factory doing vital work on the sten gun for the Ministry of Supply employs workers of many nations; British and allies and refugees from Axis countries. Poles, Czechoslovaks, Hungarians, Belgians, French, Austrians, Germans, Irish, Scots, Welsh and Americans work together towards victory for a free Europe. The manager, born in Sweden, spent most of his life in the United States.
