Somerset, decimated in The Blitz. June 1942. Street is unknown.
On the nights of June 28 and 29, 1942 Weston endured "hell on earthO as 52 high-explosive bombs and more than 10,000 savage incendiary devices fell upon the town.
The flames emanating from the crumbling ruins could be seen from Wales, as Weston suffered its worst days at war.

Bomb damage to Bridlington in the North East of England after Germain airmen of the Luftwaffe bombed the town in an air raid in July 1940.
Five people were killed including two girls in a hairdressers business which operated here before the high explosive blasted it out of existence.

Councillor Denis Heath had a narrow escape when his Moseley house was damaged during an air raid. He was in bed when the bomb struck his house. He got up and fell into the crater, but escaped with a few cuts and bruises. His family were not in the house when the incident happened. 5th July 1941
