In November 1944 the Germans carried out a forced evacuation of the civilian population in the interior of Finnmark and burnt all the homes to the ground. Some of the people managed to escape into the mountains. An effective relief organisation has been built up and large quantities of food and clothing have been distributed to the population in certain areas of Finnmark. Pictured, clothing for the population is distributed. Circa March 1945.

Going away party... 32 homeless children, their parents and helpers, all from Huddersfield; are on the holiday of a lifetime in Salou, Spain. A series of fund-raising events and donations from local groups over the last 10 weeks has raised ¿8,500. As a treat before going away KFC, at Marsh, gave the children a going away party.
