Proceeds from the sale will go to to British and American AIDS and cancer charities.

At this stage in Elton's career, 1997, he had recently released the single "Candle In The Wind 1997" a re-working is his 1970s single, and a tribute to Princess Diana who died 31st August 1997. This has been named the 2nd highest single of all time, behind Bing Crosby's "White Christmas". Also in 1997, he released "The Big Picture" album containing the hit single "Something In The Way You Look Tonight" issued as a double A side with "Candle In The wind 1997".
