The Teessaurus a triceratops by Genevieve Glatt, fabricated by Harts of Stockton at a cost of ?16,000. seen here shortly after being installed in Teessaurus Park. Which is a ten acre riverside development park which resulted from a national Art into Landscape competition organised by the Sunday Times and the Arts Council in 1979. A slag heap was landscaped so as to create a pleasant green area where people might go to watch traffic on the river. The 6 ton monster was commissioned by Middlesbrough Council. Circa September 1979

Hobart's Funnies were a number of unusually modified tanks operated by the 79th Armoured Division and the Royal Engineers. These specialized tanks were developed under the guidance of Major General Percy Hobart to overcome the problems of the planned Invasion of Normandy. They played a major part on the Commonwealth beaches during the landings and are wthe forerunners of the modern combat engineering vehicles we see on todays battlefield. Our picture shows: A Churchill tank fitted with a Bullshorn Plough: A mine plough intended to excavate the ground in front of the tank, to expose and make harmless any land mines
